About the Role
A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced professional to lead operational resilience initiatives and support branch-level governance within a leading international Corporate & Investment Bank. This is a First Line of Defence role with a wide scope, covering risk assessment, governance oversight, and cross-functional coordination.
The successful candidate will play a key role in embedding a robust resilience framework across the UK Branch, while also providing critical support to the Risk Board and business leadership. This role requires strategic oversight, hands-on project execution, and strong engagement with internal stakeholders across business and control functions.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Assessment & Controls

Analyse risk indicators (KRIs, risk assessments) and escalate material risks or trends.

Lead monthly control campaigns and quality assurance activities.

Challenge the effectiveness of existing controls and guide remediation efforts.

Monitor and escalate risk events, ensuring timely resolution.
Governance & Supervision
-
Ensure local governance and supervision frameworks meet regulatory standards.

Support and facilitate key forums such as the UK Risk Board and Control Committees.

Oversee intragroup service SLAs and manage policy/procedure reviews.
-
Maintain oversight of supervisory requirements and escalate gaps accordingly.
Operational Resilience & Coordination

Embed resilience frameworks into business and control processes.

Coordinate initiatives to strengthen the UK Branch operating model.

Provide business management support to the UK banking teams.

Manage branch-wide assessments, crisis readiness, and resilience reporting.
Other Duties
-
Engage with second and third lines of defence, and Head Office functions.

Manage ad hoc strategic projects and initiatives.

Ensure ongoing compliance with FCA Conduct Rules and internal risk frameworks.
What We’re Looking For

Strong knowledge of financial products, front-to-back processes, and banking operations.

Experience in operational resilience, operational risk, or crisis management.
