‘Laura’s background and experience has brought a fresh perspective to the Asset Management team … I recommend others think about looking at hiring via The Return Hub.’ USS

Successful Hiring

Damian Holland and Emma Singh were looking to build an inclusive team and were interested in experienced candidates with diversity of thought for Director level hires. Having been introduced to The Return Hub, they engaged them alongside their usual resourcing methods and swiftly moved through to offer stage for the role of Associate Credit Manager.

“The Private Markets Group (PMG) is committed to EDI, in all its forms, and so we welcomed the opportunity to partner with an organisation such as The Return Hub who we felt could offer us access to a range of candidates that were complementary to our historic forms of recruitment.  Laura was the outstanding candidate presented to us and PMG were ultimately able to offer the flexibility in working pattern that Laura was looking for and subsequently PMG have gained a team member that we might have struggled to attract through other recruitment channels.”

As an Asset Manager with over 15 years of experience, Laura Hill was looking to pivot into a role at a company that would challenge her, but also offer her flexibility in a hybrid working environment.

She was attracted by the culture of USS and their positive attitude towards flexible working. She was also keen to work in an environment that encouraged development, valued individual contribution, and give her an opportunity to expand her skills. She’d heard glowing reviews of the culture at USS from The Return Hub team, and during the interview process and her meetings with Damian, she had a growing sense that USS would be the right firm for her next move. Laura’s mind was made up in the final stages of the interview process when her future team arranged to meet with her in a more relaxed setting. This small but important touch sealed the deal for her, and she was delighted when USS moved to an offer.

5 months in and Laura has settled into her role very well and Damian is delighted with her progress.

Emma says “We are really pleased to have welcomed Laura to the PMG team, she applied via the Return Hub, and met with several of the team. Laura’s background and experience has brought a fresh perspective to the asset management team, and we are looking forward to the continued role she will play in overseeing our growing portfolio. I recommend others think about looking at hiring via The Return Hub.”
