This is a senior, high-impact leadership role for a market-recognised investment professional who thrives on complexity, influence and change. Reporting directly to the Chief Investment Officer, you will sit at the heart of the investment function – driving strategy, setting standards and building a genuinely world-class Investment Centre of Excellence.
You will help define how investment is done: the culture, the processes, the governance and the innovation that will underpin long-term success for Partner Funds and stakeholders.
The opportunity
As Head of Investment – Centre of Excellence, you will:
-
Lead strategic change
Work alongside the CIO and senior investment leaders to design and deliver major strategic initiatives, including regulatory reform, future pooling evolution, organisational design and innovation across asset classes. -
Build and oversee the Investment Centre of Excellence
Take ownership of investment oversight, responsible investment & stewardship, manager research and monitoring, trading & execution and local investing – ensuring best-in-class practice, clear accountability and measurable outcomes. -
Embed excellence and consistency
Set objectives, KPIs and performance standards that promote rigorous, research-driven, collaborative investing and robust decision-making. -
Act as a trusted advisor to the CIO
Provide insight, challenge and support across strategy, portfolio oversight, governance papers and critical investment decisions. -
Connect investment to client need
Ensure investment solutions remain aligned to Partner Fund requirements, delivering value for money, transparency and confidence through close collaboration with advisory and client teams. -
Champion responsible investment
Strengthen the integration of responsible investment and stewardship into portfolio construction, manager selection and organisational culture.
Who we’re looking for
You are an acknowledged investment leader with the credibility, judgement and presence to operate at the highest level. You bring:
-
Deep experience in portfolio construction, asset class design, manager selection and investment oversight
-
A strong track record of leading high-performing investment teams through change
-
The ability to translate complex investment concepts into clear, compelling advice for senior stakeholders
-
Exceptional relationship-building skills across boards, clients, regulators and external managers
-
A reputation for integrity, professionalism and sound judgement
-
CFA (or equivalent) and the ability to meet regulatory fitness and propriety requirements
You are curious enough to challenge, confident enough to lead, and pragmatic enough to deliver.
Why this role matters
This role will shape the investor culture, operating model and long-term direction of a large, systemically important investment pool. You will influence not just portfolios, but how decisions are made, how teams collaborate and how the organisation evolves for the future.
If you are motivated by purpose, scale and impact – this is a rare opportunity to lead from the centre.
