This is a senior investment leadership role for an experienced alternatives and hedging specialist.
Reporting directly to the Chief Investment Officer, you will set the strategic direction for Alternatives and Hedging, design and evolve market-leading solutions, and lead a high-performing team responsible for research, portfolio construction, implementation, monitoring and first-line risk management.
The opportunity
You will:

Define strategy and vision
Set the long-term direction for Alternatives and Hedging, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations, government policy and Partner Fund objectives. -
Design and evolve investment solutions
Lead the development of liquid and semi-liquid alternatives and hedging strategies, including diversified growth, hedge funds, absolute return credit, insurance-linked securities and interest rate, inflation and currency hedging. -
Own portfolio outcomes
Provide senior oversight and decision-making across all portfolios, ensuring mandates are met, risks are understood and governance is robust. -
Build and lead a best-in-class team
Develop senior investment professionals, set clear expectations and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and research-driven decision making. -
Engage at the highest level
Represent the function with Partner Funds, committees, government, regulators and the wider investment industry, communicating complex strategies with clarity and authority. -
Champion strong controls and responsible investing
Ensure a robust first-line risk and control environment, with effective ESG integration, transparent reporting and continuous improvement.
Who we’re looking for
You are a credible, decisive and respected investment leader with:

Significant senior-level experience in alternatives and/or hedging

A strong understanding of diversifying assets, hedging instruments and portfolio risk management

A proven track record of leading senior investment teams

Experience presenting to and advising institutional clients, boards or committees

Sound judgement, high professional standards and deep governance awareness

CFA (or equivalent) and the ability to meet regulatory Fitness and Propriety requirements
