Director – Project Finance & Energy Transition, Global Bank

London, hybrid working

We are seeking an experienced Director to join our client’s Project Finance and Energy Transition team in EMEA. This role focuses on originating and executing project finance transactions across sectors such as power, renewables, natural resources, and infrastructure. You will work closely with clients, internal teams, and external partners to structure innovative financing solutions, manage credit risk, and support strategic business growth.

This is a senior role requiring both transaction execution and client relationship management, with exposure to cross-market initiatives and collaboration across international offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Originate and execute project finance and energy transition transactions in line with departmental strategy.

  • Structure deals to mitigate risk, ensuring appropriate credit analysis and approvals.

  • Prepare pitchbooks, credit applications, and marketing materials as required.

  • Coordinate all internal deal processes, including legal, compliance, treasury, and credit functions.

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships and collaborate with other banks, legal advisors, and consultants.

  • Identify cross-selling opportunities and leverage the wider global network where appropriate.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and internal policies.

  • Contribute to team goals, including revenue, transaction volume, and pipeline development.


Skills & Experience

  • Degree or equivalent qualification.

  • Strong project finance experience, including structuring and financial modelling.

  • Deep knowledge of project and corporate finance structures with ability to design innovative solutions.

  • Excellent client relationship management and marketing skills.

  • Knowledge of financing markets, credit risk assessment, and relevant sectors (Power, Renewables, Natural Resources, PFI/Infrastructure).

  • Familiarity with legal and accounting principles relevant to project finance is desirable.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and project management skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment with multiple stakeholders.
