Investment Analyst – US Credit (Investment Grade & High Yield), Asset Management – The Return Hub – job and returnship opportunities in the city

An exciting opportunity has opened for a Credit Investment Analyst to join a highly regarded Fixed Income team within a leading investment management firm.

This role offers the chance to work closely with experienced Fund Managers, conducting deep fundamental research across US Investment Grade and High Yield corporate credit markets, and contributing directly to investment decisions.

The Opportunity

You’ll play a key role in identifying attractive credit opportunities, producing high-quality research and providing analytical support to portfolio managers across a range of investment strategies.

Working within a collaborative global research team, you’ll analyse sectors and issuers, assess relative value opportunities and contribute insights that influence portfolio positioning.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct fundamental and relative value analysis on US corporate credit issuers
Produce detailed credit research and investment memoranda to support portfolio decisions
Identify credits requiring deeper analysis across assigned sectors
Integrate ESG considerations into investment recommendations
Present research and insights at internal investment meetings
Maintain and develop issuer databases and financial models
Support portfolio managers with investment analysis and market insights
Assist with marketing materials, performance data and portfolio reporting
Participate in industry research meetings and company engagement, including occasional travel

What We’re Looking For

Experience on the buy-side or sell-side, ideally within high yield or corporate credit markets
Experience covering US corporate credit highly desirable
Strong financial modelling, credit analysis and valuation skills
Demonstrated understanding of global credit markets and investing
Ability to produce clear, structured and timely investment research
Strong communication and presentation skills
Advanced Excel and Bloomberg proficiency
A collaborative mindset and genuine passion for markets and investing
